A brand of macaroni and cheese sold at major chains like Target, Safeway, and Stop & Shop has reportedly been voluntarily recalled over concerns that refrigeration issues may have caused the product to spoil.
Leather's Fine Foods recalled two macaroni and cheese products last week: a standard and a white cheddar version. According to Newsweek:.
The brand has stopped selling the 12-ounce product, which is sold in California, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, after a trailer refrigeration unit malfunctioned, according to the publication.

The recall has been classified as a Class II risk, which means that, according to the Food and Drug Administration, “the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects or is unlikely to cause serious adverse health effects.”.
According to Newsweek, 12 more products from the brand are also being recalled, including Leather's Essentials Everyday Original Potato Salad (16 ounces), Leather's American Classics Scalloped Potatoes (12 ounces), Leather's American Classics Asiago Creamed Spinach (12 ounces) and Leather's Raspberry Parfait Dessert (8 pound).
Customers who purchased the recalled products are being advised not to consume them, and those with allergies are urged to take precautions.
