Mac Jones Has an Unsettling Morning Before Leading 49ers to Victory
McJones had quite the eventful Thursday, starting off with an unsettling incident before he helped secure an overtime victory for the San Francisco 49ers. With Brock Purdy sidelined due to injury, Jones took the lead as the 49ers faced off against the Los Angeles Rams, winning 26-23.
Prior to heading to the game, Jones experienced something alarming. He reportedly saw a body floating in the water near the team’s hotel in Marina Del Rey, California. That’s not something one expects to encounter before a big game, right?
According to reports, while Jones was on his balcony, he noticed the body and informed his teammates. Someone promptly called the police, resulting in investigators and a coroner’s van arriving at the scene as the team was preparing to leave for the stadium.
Despite starting the day in such a horrifying way, Jones managed to focus on the game. He completed 33 passes out of 49 attempts, accumulating 342 yards with two touchdown passes. He kicked off the game with a touchdown throw to Jake Tong and followed up with another to Christian McCaffrey.
Later in the match, during overtime, the 49ers moved downfield, setting up a field goal attempt by Eddie Pinero. He successfully landed a 41-yarder, pushing the team to victory. On the other hand, the Rams attempted to respond but couldn’t convert on a crucial fourth down, allowing the 49ers to seal the win.
The 49ers now stand at 4-1 for the season and are 3-0 within their division. After a disappointing playoff miss last year, it seems they’re aiming to make a stronger push this time around. Looks like this season might be quite the adventure for them!
