Madison Pettis Breaks Up with Michael Porter Jr.
Former Disney Channel actress Madison Pettis has opened up about her breakup with NBA forward Michael Porter Jr., describing him as “a psychopath.” During her recent appearance on the podcast “In Your Dream With Owen Seale,” she discussed how her ex was a part of her life when he was still in high school and college.
Pettis, now 27, shared her relaxing evening routine, which includes enjoying a glass of wine while watching basketball. “I’m a huge sports fan,” she noted, “and it definitely helps me unwind.” She’s a Warriors fan and has NBA League Pass, allowing her to catch plenty of games.
When asked if she would consider being a “Basketball Wife,” she replied, “Um, yeah.” She proceeded to reveal that she ended her relationship with Porter before he entered the NBA. “I broke up with him because he was a psychopath,” she stated, adding that while many athletes might not make the best partners, she appreciates their dedication to their sport.
Though she didn’t go into more detail about their past, Pettis previously dated Porter from 2016 until mid-2017. This was before the Denver Nuggets picked him as the 14th overall choice in the 2018 NBA Draft. They even attended the Radio Disney Music Awards together in 2017.
Porter has seen success in his career, winning a championship with the Nuggets in 2023 before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets last June. His recent remarks regarding relationships stirred controversy when he appeared on the podcast “One Night with Steiny.” There, he mentioned wanting to “test” women’s reactions to the views of controversial figure Andrew Tate.
He stated, “I’m not saying I’m misogynistic, but I’m going to play devil’s advocate and see how this girl thinks about certain things,” but he hasn’t commented on Pettis’ claims.
