Madonna adds Tennessee tour stop to protest anti-LGBTQ+ legislation

Madonna is adding a Tennessee tour stop to raise money for transgender rights organizations after Tennessee passed historic anti-LGBTQ+ laws.

The Queen of Pop’s The Celebration Tour includes the Nashville Show and 7 other bonus dates.

Earlier this month, Tennessee became the first state to pass legislation that explicitly targets drag shows. It also joins the list of states banning gender-affirming healthcare for transgender youth.

The performer said the Tennessee show aims to celebrate the transgender and drug communities.

“The oppression of LGBTQ+ people is not only unacceptable and inhumane. It creates an unsafe environment. ‘” Madonna wrote on Instagram.

She added, “Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are baseless and pathetic. I know Bob [the Drag Queen] See you from the Nashville stage celebrating the beauty of the queer community. ”

A portion of ticket sales from her Nashville show will go to trans rights organization Rolling Stone. report.
