Madonna fans furious after she starts concert late

Madonna's late arrival to the opening night of her Celebration Tour in the US left fans furious.

Madonna took the stage about an hour late at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, because she encountered sound issues, Fox News Digital confirmed. The pop star's sounds continued until near the 7:30 p.m. opening, according to a person familiar with the matter. His DJ opening for Madonna took to the stage at 8:30 p.m., and the arena was about half full.

At one point during the concert, Madonna asked the audience if they could hear her because she heard an echo in her earphones, a source told Fox News Digital.

However, fans were not satisfied.

“I don't care if you're Madonna,” one user wrote on social media. “If you're three hours late, you're just being rude.”

“I love Madonna but I'm really tired of her being literally like 2 hours late for her first show in the US,” another added.

“Personally, if she was an hour late, I would have gone straight home, but I understand a lot of people paid for it.” [sic] Seat prices are good so I can see why so many people stay and wait,” one person said.

The “Material Girl” singer is notorious for being late to concerts and was sued in 2019 for delaying her canceled Miami tour. NBC reported that fans tried to get refunds after the “Madame X” concert was rescheduled from the original 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

“The ticket holders were unable to attend the concert, which ended at approximately 1 a.m., because they had to go to work and school the next day,” the lawsuit claimed, according to the newspaper. “Hollander attempted to obtain a refund for the three tickets he purchased for a Madonna concert, but was unsuccessful.”

On June 24, before her current tour, Madonna was hospitalized with a “serious infection.”

“When I woke up in the hospital, my first thought was about my children,” Madonna wrote on Instagram while recovering at home. She said: “My next thought was that I didn't want to disappoint the people who had bought tickets for my tour, and who had worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show.'' I didn't want to disappoint the people who helped me.”

The “Vogue” singer was scheduled to begin her “Celebration Tour” in July, which also marks her 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry.
