2026 FIFA World Cup Halftime Show Lineup Announced

Madonna, Shakira, and BTS have been revealed as the headline performers for the inaugural halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement came on Wednesday through FIFA’s official World Cup Instagram account, confirming that these three music icons will grace the stage during the final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In their post, FIFA noted, “The world’s biggest stage. An even bigger purpose.”

Set for July 19, the halftime show promises to be a significant highlight, featuring @madonna, @shakira, and @bts.bigitofficial, as mentioned in the post.

Additionally, Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, will be curating the performance.

This event ties into a larger initiative; the halftime show aims to support the FIFA Global Citizenship Education Fund, which is designed to raise $100 million to improve education and soccer access for children globally. During the tournament, $1 from every ticket sold for a FIFA World Cup 2026™ match will contribute to this fund.

Chris Martin, in a playful announcement, appeared alongside beloved Sesame Street characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster. He remarked, “This is a chance to show how amazing different kinds of humans are, and monsters and aliens are actually one big family.”

The World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, kicking off on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa.

Notably, the opening ceremony will feature additional performances from artists including Tyra, Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, J Balvin, and Michael Bublé.
