Since leaving the White House, Attorney General Bill Barr has attacked Donald Trump.
Despite this, he still supports a 2024 presidential election.
Barr said, “I’m going to vote Republican. I support the Republican ticket.”
Bill Barr, who once served as Donald Trump’s attorney general and has since emerged as one of the president’s most prominent critics, said Wednesday that despite disagreements with his former boss, he will continue to lead the Republican Party in November. He said he supported the “ticket.”
“I heard you call this hush money scandal ‘outrageous.’ I also know that you’ve been asked a number of times that you had disagreements with the former president.” Bill Hemmer of Fox’s “America’s Newsroom” asked Barr. “He is the presumptive candidate and we assume he will be the candidate. Will we support him in 2024 as well?”
“I’ve said all along that when you have two bad choices, I think it’s my duty to choose the person who I think will do the least harm to the country,” Barr responded. “And in my heart, I’m going to vote Republican. I support the Republican ticket.”
“I think the real danger to this country, the real danger to democracy as I say, is progressive policies,” he continued. “Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but I think a continuation of the Biden administration would be national suicide.”
Donald Trump thanked Barr for his support of Truth Social. He also referenced his recent attacks on Barr, joking that he would “remove the word ‘apathy’ from my statement.”
