MagSafe Battery Charger Recall Due to Fire Risk
Over 1,000 MagSafe battery chargers have been recalled because of potential burn hazards following reports of fires caused by these power banks.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Flaunt is recalling approximately 1,400 MagSafe chargers due to serious injury or death risks from fire or burns. They emphasized that “the lithium-ion batteries in the recalled power banks may overheat and ignite, posing serious risks.”
Interestingly, there have been five incidents reported of these chargers overheating and igniting. This includes one case where a person suffered burns on their hand and another involving burns on an arm. Additionally, four reports indicated minor property damage.
The specific model affected is the E33A. If you look closely, you’ll find “FLAUNT” engraved on the front right side, and there’s a small round button located at the bottom center of the device.
The power banks were available in various colors: melon, black, lavender, and white. They were sold online, priced around $65, from May 2024 through April 2025.
Consumers are advised to discontinue use of the recalled chargers immediately and to reach out to Flaunt for a refund.
The commission also provided a notable warning: “Power banks with lithium-ion batteries in this recall should not be disposed of in regular trash or curbside recycling. They need to be disposed of in specific ways due to the fire risk they present.”
