
These Big Apple sports teams have an edge when it comes to doping.
The NFL’s New York Giants and MLB’s New York Mets have set the records for the most players and games suspended for drug violations in their respective leagues since 2010, a new study has found.
In the past 14 seasons, 15 G-Men have taken performance-enhancing drugs and failed, costing the team $3 million in fines and 85-game suspensions, according to the report. Sportsbook ReviewsAnalysis was carried out.
The eight Mets doping players were suspended for a combined 826 games and fined $29 million.
The New York Yankees had five players suspended, received a 392-game suspension and received $25 million in drug-related fines.
The Yankees and Mets are the only two major league teams with more than $12 million in fines and salary forfeitures.
The New York Jets were ranked seventh on the sportsbooks’ list of “dirtiest” NFL teams after seven players were suspended for a total of 32 games and the team was fined $1.5 million.
Of all NBA teams, the New York Knicks were fined the most, $3 million, for the performance-enhancing actions of just one player, and also suspended one player for 20 games.
The Brooklyn Nets had one player suspended 25 games for doping and were fined nearly $600,000.
