in poll In a survey conducted this month by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, 55 percent of respondents said Taylor Swift’s support would not influence their vote in November.
Overall, 18% are more likely to vote for a candidate supported by Swift, and 15% are less likely to vote for a candidate supported by the pop superstar.
Taylor Swift has not yet endorsed any candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
Unlike four years ago, celebrities are significantly less willing to line up behind Biden this time around. His popularity is at an all-time low and he is a tarnished asset, especially among younger progressives who lament his stance on Israel.
Celebrities will need to consider the damage that endorsing Biden could do to their personal brands before jumping into politics.
A recent Quinnipiac poll found that a whopping 67% of voters think Biden is too old to serve a second term. Even a poll by new york times Seventy-three percent of registered voters believe Biden is too old to be an effective president, and have harshly criticized him.
Swift has remained notably silent about Biden in the four years since endorsing him, and so far she has not publicly attacked former President Donald Trump as she did during the last election cycle.
Nevertheless, Democrats are trying to court her support.
As Breitbart News reported, Rob Reiner recently begged Swift to publicly support Biden, revealing his desperation by saying he would “give anything” for her.
