The search for Suddiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student who disappeared from a five-star resort in the Dominican Republic, is intensifying as police say the male friend she was with is currently under investigation.
According to the country's national police, La Policia Nacional, Conanki was last seen walking into the beach at the RIU Republica resort in Punta Cana early Thursday morning.
It is unclear who the “young man” is, but police say he is in the waters of the same beach and, according to a translation of the Spanish statement, they were asking him that they were trying to support the events of his version.
Conanki, a legitimate US resident of Virginia, was on a spring break trip with five female classmates, authorities previously said.

She arrived on March 3rd and was last seen on surveillance video around 4:15am on March 6th, and headed to the beach with a friend, according to local police.
Dominican News Outlet Elnacional Joshua Stephen Libe, a 24-year-old tourist from Iowa, reported that Conanki was the last person to see him alive.
Libe, who was also a guest at the same resort, reportedly told police to several different versions of what happened.

Local outlet Noticias Sin Libe tells the police that he got into the water with Conanki, but the rough waves made him sick, so he returns to the shore and leaves Conanki in the water.

In another version, he says he's sick and leaves Conanki in the deep waters of his knees before he dies on the beach.
Finally, according to a report from Noticias Sin, Ribe claimed he saw Conanki walking along the beach before falling asleep on the beach.

Local media also reported that Conanki's clothes were found on the beach.

As the search for Conanki intensifies, Interpol is being called for help. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Virginia has requested a global police warning known as the yellow notification for missing persons, According to a report by CBS News.
Conanki is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with dark hair and brown eyes. She was finally wearing a brown bikini, hoop earrings, a bracelet and anklet.
