'Malibu Joffrey' shares brief statement following beach incident

Austin Perkins, often referred to as “Malibu Joffrey,” seems to be brushing off the criticism following his outburst at a Malibu beach by sharing a terse message on Instagram. On Sunday, he posted a video with the caption, “Mog on and forward.”

This enigmatic message followed his identification by the California Post as the aspiring influencer who was filmed delivering a profane and racist tirade during a confrontation on the Fourth of July at the beach.

In the viral video, Perkins can be seen yelling obscenities and racial slurs after being confronted by other beachgoers who called him out for leaving trash behind. Filmed without a shirt and visibly agitated, he reacted aggressively when his family asked him to clean up the discarded trash.

Refusing to engage cooperatively, he instead launched into a series of verbal attacks directed at the family’s looks, sexuality, and background, even telling them to “go back to their country.”

Things escalated when he lunged at the person recording him, attempting to snatch the phone before retreating and continuing his barrage of insults.

As he and his female companion began to leave, Perkins didn’t hold back his comments, sneering at the family and telling them to “keep supporting Kamala.” His insults continued even as they tried to prompt him to simply pick up the trash.

Perkins’s tirade lasted several minutes, with the family repeatedly saying, “All we ask you to do is pick up the trash.” Instead of addressing the backlash online or issuing an apology, his Instagram post seemed to signal a desire to move past the incident with the phrase “mog and move on.”

This post appears to be Perkins’s first public reaction since the uproar over his beach confrontation, which garnered significant outrage online.
