Malibu wildfire forces Jane Seymour to evacuate as flames burn ‘extremely close’ to star’s home

Jane Seymour escaped the line of fire.

The 73-year-old actress posted a series of photos and videos Instagram Wednesday featured firefighters working to extinguish wildfires. Another photo showed how close the fire was to her home.

“The Franklin Fire continues to burn in Malibu and is very close to our home, but we continue to evacuate and are safe,” she wrote in the caption. “We are deeply grateful to our incredible firefighters and Malibu’s amazing volunteer fire department who are risking everything to protect our homes and communities.”

She went on to tell her followers that she hoped the fire would remind her of the “strength, courage, resilience and compassion that unites us in the most difficult of times,” while also “supporting and uplifting each other.” Encourage us, as we always do.”

“Thank you to everyone fighting the flames and keeping us safe. Your courage is extraordinary,” she concluded.

Fans immediately flooded the comments section with congratulations and positive thoughts.

“Thank God you and your family are safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone affected by the fire,” another fan wrote in part.

According to Fox11, franklin fire It started north of Pepperdine University on Monday around 10:50 p.m. and has grown to more than 4,000 acres. As of Wednesday afternoon, the fire was 7% contained.

Many other celebrities who call Malibu home, including Dick Van Dyke and Mira Sorvino, have also been forced to evacuate. Van Dijk and Sorvino also updated fans on safety.

“Arlene and I were safely evacuated with the animals, except for Bobo who ran away when we left,” Van Dyke wrote in a Facebook post shared Tuesday. “We pray that he is safe and that our community at Serra Retreat survives this terrible fire.”

She later posted a video of her cat, Bobo, and wrote, “I hope Bobo is okay.”

Sorvino shared on X (formerly Twitter) that his family was “evacuated in the middle of the night,” and used the opportunity to say, “To my friends and neighbors in Malibu, I hope you're all safe.”
