Dick Van Dyke got away with it.
The 98-year-old legendary actor's home is one of the homes at risk as wildfires continue to spread in Malibu, California. Van Dyke shared an update with concerned fans on his Facebook account, telling them that he and his wife, Arlene Silver, had been “safely evacuated.”
“Arlene and I evacuated safely with the animals, but as we were leaving, Bobo ran away,” he wrote. “We pray that he is safe and that our community at Serra Retreat survives this terrible fire.”
Fans quickly flocked to the comments section to send their prayers and wishes to the “Mary Poppins” star.

“Prayers finished for you and your family and friends. Prayers for first responders too!” one fan wrote in the comments section.
A second fan wrote: “My thoughts are with you and all those affected. I'm glad you're all safe. I hope Bobo is rescued.”
A third added: “I'm so glad you're all safe. Praying for you.”

She later posted a video of her cat, Bobo, and wrote, “I hope Bobo is okay.”
Just a few days ago, the actor's home was featured in the music video for Coldplay's new song “All My Love,” which celebrates the actor's decades-long Hollywood career. The video included footage of Van Dyke with his family, flashbacks, and his many awards and honors.
In the video, the actor, who turns 99 on Friday, reflected on his life and said he was “not afraid” of death.
“I'm acutely aware that I could go at any time, but I don't know why it doesn't matter to me. I'm not afraid,” Van Dijk said in the video. “I feel like I’m okay, even though I’m the complete opposite of being intellectual.”
The Franklin Fire started north of Pepperdine University around 10:50 p.m. Monday and has grown to more than 2,800 acres, according to Fox 11.
“Arlene and I evacuated to safety with our animals, but Bobo escaped on our departure. I hope you survive.”

The sheriff said at a news conference Tuesday that more than 18,000 people and 8,100 buildings were affected, 2,000 of which were under evacuation orders, the newspaper reported. The cause of the wildfire remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the sheriff's arson team.
In addition to Van Dyke, other celebrities living in the area have also evacuated, including actress Mira Sorvino and singers Cher Streisand and Barbra Streisand.
A representative for Cher told The New York Times that she and her pets were staying at a hotel.
“To all my friends and neighbors in Malibu, I hope you're all safe,” Sorvino shared on X (formerly Twitter). “We evacuated in the middle of the night, children and pets all taken into consideration! Scary times!!”
