Giants fans should have a little bit easier Friday morning.
Star receiver Malik Nabors provided a positive update early Friday morning after being sidelined with a concussion in the fourth quarter of a 20-15 home loss to the Cowboys.
Nabors recorded his second 100-yard game in four weeks before being sent down, catching 12 passes for 115 yards.
“Everything is good,” Nabers wrote, before a praying hands emoji. “Thank you for all the prayers!!!”
The Giants' seventh straight loss to the Cowboys on Thursday came with the added blow of Nabors suffering a concussion during the Giants' penultimate drive.
On a 4th-and-6 play at the Giants' own 45-yard line in a 20-15 game, quarterback Daniel Jones targets Neighbors on the sideline for the 15th time, and the receiver drops the ball hard to the turf. could not hold. .
After lying on the ground for a long time, Nabors finally got out and headed to a blue medical tent, but was ultimately removed.
The Giants received the ball at their own 41-yard line with 28 seconds left and no timeouts, but the drive failed without Nabers' presence and ended in an interception by Jones.
Coach Brian Daboll did not give any updates after the game, saying the rookie had met with a doctor and would be examined after the press conference.
“I hope he's okay,” Daboll said.
Neighbors will need clearance to return to the field when the Giants visit the Seahawks in Week 5, but it would help the Giants get three more days of rest before that game.
The Giants' offense is already pretty limited, and with the loss of Neighbors, who leads the NFL with 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns thanks to getting one more game, it's already going to be a tough road game. The match was supposed to be even worse. It's mind-boggling.
“I think he's doing some good things,” Daboll said of the rookie's performance. “Once again, I’m glad he’s here.”
