Mayor Zohran Mamdani to Appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is set to make a guest appearance next week on a special broadcast of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” This was announced by the network on Thursday.

For this one-time episode, the digitally savvy Mamdani will join host Jimmy Kimmel during the show’s eighth annual run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House, scheduled from September 28 to October 2.

Mamdani will share the stage with several notable figures from politics, entertainment, and music, including U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, known for his socialist views.

Other high-profile guests slated for the five-day show include Mahershala Ali, Paul McCartney, Robby Hoffman, Billy Crystal, Pete Davidson, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Morello, and talk show hosts Seth Meyers and John Oliver.

Musical performances will feature artists like De La Soul, Goose, TV On The Radio, alongside Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello.

Earlier this month, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” celebrated its 4000th episode, during which Kimmel made references to the Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr and the brief suspension he faced after summer breaks.

The host, known for his critiques of President Trump and other Republicans, discussed the challenges he experienced in 2025 regarding the show’s temporary suspension and Carr.

Kimmel was momentarily taken off the air by Disney after he made some controversial comments regarding Charlie Kirk, leading to backlash and an indefinite preemption of the show, according to ABC.

He resumed broadcasting shortly afterward, clarifying that he never meant to make light of Kirk’s situation.

A few months down the line, Kimmel faced more scrutiny due to a viral joke he made about First Lady Melania Trump, which surfaced after an assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
