main events
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Newcastle: Forest win an early free-kick and Elanga puts in a peach ball to cause chaos in the box. It falls to Wood, which would no doubt cause a panic given his form, but his close range shot is blocked by the hole… and the flag goes up anyway.
Manchester United 0-0 Leicester: When the visitors lost possession, United rushed forward and patiently tried to build up. Fernandes eventually finds Hoylund, but Lester clears. However, United put a lot of pressure on from the start.

Will the human rights watchdog be controlled by Saudi Arabia for the first year, then Qatar, then Kuwait, then Dubai… Sorry to be cynical, but I couldn't bring myself to do that – City yesterday Lost again, the music was perfect for today's fitting encore, perhaps for Forrest to continue his magical Mystery Tour.
And Eric lists his prices (sort of):
Good morning from Pittsburgh! There are a few things to look forward to on today's undercard (yes, that's what we're all thinking). Newcastle spent big to lure Chris Wood from relegation-threatened Burnley and began to consider him redundant after just one calendar year. rude. He scored a hat-trick at St James' Park last season. I hope the neutrals are having a lot of fun today, hehehe. I've never seen a whole team communicating that over the phone in the way you can imagine Manchester United today (if the kids still say that). An often indifferent home crowd, a relegation contender, a lame duck manager and a beckoning international window. You can't go to Old Trafford and pay to be exposed to that kind of rubbish. (Well, you can, but it's expensive.)
Bruno Fernandes is celebrating 25 games for Manchester United today and Jim Ratcliffe presented him with a plaque to commemorate the occasion. Currently club captain, he scored 82 goals and won two trophies during his time at the club.

Paul McInnes has delivered some big news that will definitely impact the Premier League.
Proposed changes to the football regulator that would prevent clubs from being sold to nation-states are due to be introduced in the House of Lords after the bill returns to Parliament this week. The 19 changes to the Football Governance Bill have been proposed by Fair Game, an organization of 34 men's clubs that advocates for a more sustainable approach to the running of the national sport.
Other proposals include adding a human rights element to the owner-director test and requiring disclosure of owners' financial sources. The text of the amendment regarding state ownership reads as follows: “This bill must exclude the possibility that the owner of a club is a state or state-controlled individual or entity.
Nottingham Forest currently sit third in the Premier League, a feat not many expected at the start of the season. Jonathan Wilson believes Nuno Espirito Santo is a comfortable place for him because, despite the turmoil in the background, his plans are not particularly complex.
Forest have the third-lowest possession in the league this season, but it's working well. At least it works for them. Clubs with increased self-esteem may hold the ball more and insist on more sophistication, but simplicity has its own charm.
