important events
goal! Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham (Nas, 31 minutes)
what’s happening? !
31 minutes: The goal came from a corner kick, a short shot from Zumanen and a well-worked shot from Wimberli inside the area. Spence’s shot was so deft that it looked like England had touched it, but she didn’t. United thought it was offside, but the goal stood – there was no VAR here.
goal! Manchester United 1-1 Tottenham (England, 29)
Spence typed it in. But I think England also had a touch, I’ll check to see who gets the credit.
28 minutes: As Tottenham move forward here, Thomas runs well down the right flank and puts in a cross, but Earps flicks the shot out of the air.
26 minutes: Paris made a great pass, but how she predicted it was pure skill. Unfortunately Thune was unable to connect and the goal reached Galton who was ruled offside.
24 minutes: Tottenham are in a good position again but Vinberg fires a shot over the bar – Spurs need to take their chances as United are tougher at the moment.
22 minutes: United keep their foot on the pedal and this time Le Tissier fires a shot on goal, but Spencer collects it. The hosts came again and Mallard had a shot, Spencer saved but the keeper couldn’t keep it, but she recovered well before a United player pounced on the rebound ball.
20 min: Zelem trains Thomas off the ball to start United’s latest attack. After a long build-up, Toon fired a shot into the box and the ball reached Paris, who converted it into a goal-kick.
18 minutes: Nas found space and picked out Vinberg in a great position, but her effort went wide and a big chance was wasted.
16 minutes: Mallard is targeted again in the box after Galton’s cross, but Spurs read it well and the Frenchman has had a great game so far.
15 minutes: United really improved in this game and although Tottenham had the upper hand early on, the home side kept knocking on the door and the free-kick was so accurate that they were able to force Mallard out. It was a move that worked really well. Spurs may regret not converting their chances early on.
goal! Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham (Mallard, 13)
Nas gives a free kick And Evans took it, and Mallard made a great run home.
12 minutes: United move forward and Paris passes the ball to Toon, but her shot goes wide. Spence tries to clear but loses to Mallard and his first cross fails to find his teammate, but the hosts come again. Paris takes a shot, but Mallard is offside, allowing Spurs to avoid danger.
10 minutes: Naz gives away a free kick and captain Zelem takes a set piece. The content was good, but Tottenham were good at making decisions with their heads and clearing the field.
8 minutes: Paris puts in a good cross but Thomas clears it. United’s forwards have been the hosts’ biggest threat so far in this match.
6 minutes: England pass a great ball to Thomas, but Evans tracks back and tries to bowl it in – the visiting team have had a much better start here. This throw goes to England, who take a shot into the box, but it is easily cleared. United look for a break but Paris is fouled by Nilden. The free kick was taken immediately, but a heavy touch from Paris allowed Spurs to clear it.
4 minutes: Vinberg has gotten off to a good start heading into this match, focusing not only on offense but also on defense. United have possession for the first time, but Nas presses well and the space they thought they had is being suffocated.
2 minutes: It was all about Spurs so far, and they had a great chance to take the lead. Binberg crossed a great ball for England but she sent her shot over the bar.

Manchester United beat Chelsea In the Women’s FA Cup semi-final it was Emma Hayes’ side’s second victory in as many weeks after losing to Arsenal in the Conti Cup final. Chelsea carried the scars of that victory into the Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona. The Blues became the first team to beat Barcelona at home in five years, the report read:
Tottenham manager Robert Billaham said:: “Our mindset is for the next game and the important thing is to have a good starting eleven, a good bench, a good game plan and try to beat Man United to fight for the top four. Obviously it’s difficult because we don’t have many games left, but we have a chance and we should go for it in this game.”
Manchester United manager Mark Skinner Speaking about Tottenham: “All of a sudden you have confidence and you get into a flow state. And I think they really benefited from that this year. I think what you have to do as an opposing coach is break up that flow. Flow. If you break up the team and make them think about how they have to play football, you disrupt the team’s cohesion and the team changes and adapts.”
