Mandy Moore Criticizes Driver After Hit-and-Run Incident

Mandy Moore recently expressed her outrage toward a driver who fled the scene after hitting her family. On Friday, Moore, 41, along with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, 39, and their two children—Ozzy, 2, and Louise, 10 months—shared this unsettling experience on Instagram.

In a heartfelt post, Moore remarked, “The woman we stopped—hope your karma catches up with you.” She also questioned what kind of person would leave the scene after such an incident, adding, “Thankfully, everyone was fine, but seriously?”

Moore’s representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment.

Recent Challenges for the Family

Recently, the family has faced numerous challenges, especially after the destructive La Fire last January, which partially damaged their home in Altadena. Their relatives, including Moore’s brother-in-law Griffin Goldsmith and sister-in-law Kit Goldsmith, lost their home completely due to the blaze.

Shortly after the fire, Moore defended herself against critics who disapproved of her sharing a GoFundMe campaign aimed at supporting her in-laws. She posted, “We need all the support we can get right now,” and highlighted that her brother-in-law, a touring musician, lost essential equipment in the fire.

Moore noted the frustration of people questioning whether she was helping her family during such a difficult time, stating, “Of course, we’re helping. We lost so much ourselves.” Her passion came through as she explained the need for assistance during these trying moments.

Frustrations with Authorities

In February, she aired her grievances about Amazon for delivering packages to her in-laws’ now-destroyed home, asking them to exercise better judgment. She shared how disappointed she was that such packages were left at a residence that no longer existed.

Amazon’s spokesperson responded, stating they would look into the issue and take steps to ensure better discretion in delivery for affected areas.

Struggles with Rebuilding

Moore has not held back in expressing her frustrations with Los Angeles County’s rebuilding protocols following the wildfires. “It feels impossible to get our home back,” she said. In a candid Instagram story, she criticized the bureaucratic hurdles that fire victims face, describing them as “endless hoops and meaningless protocols.” She voiced concerns that the system is failing those who genuinely want to rebuild their lives.

In her call for compassionate policies, Moore emphasized the urgency and necessity for support, reminding us all that families need help, regardless of wealth or status.

Her candid remarks reflect a blend of resilience and exasperation, shedding light on the personal struggles faced by many in similar situations.
