Andrew and Tristan Tate face allegations of international sex trafficking and are currently being examined by the Manhattan US attorneys’ office as indicated in a recent civil court filing made on Friday.
Three attorneys representing the Tate brothers, who are well-known for their controversial defamation, claimed in legal documents that they intend to keep specific information confidential during a CON Florida trial.
Lawyer Daniel Pinter asserted that the documents should be kept sealed until the completion of the federal investigation and/or prosecution concerning Andrew and Tristan Tate, led by the Southern District of New York.
The documents they wish to keep sealed at present are related to a dubious investigation and have reportedly been presented by the defendants, according to a new submission.
An email requesting comments from the Manhattan US law firm did not receive a response early Saturday morning.
NBC News National Law Enforcement and Information Correspondent Tom Winter Tweet mentioned that the Federal Prosecutor’s Office chose not to comment.
Emails sent to the Tate brothers’ legal representatives also went unanswered on Saturday.
Details about the potential criminal investigation were not disclosed in court documents submitted on Friday to the Palm Beach County civil department.
Should a federal investigation be in progress, this would create further legal complications for the Tate brothers across two continents.
Andrew, aged 38, identifies as a misogynist and social media influencer, while his 36-year-old brother, Tristan, is alleged to have established a criminal organization aimed at sexually exploiting Romanian women amid trafficking allegations.
The duo was arrested in 2022 and faced charges last year, having been compelled to stay in the country until the travel restriction was lifted in February; however, they are still required to return for periodic check-ins with authorities.
The Tate brothers refute all charges.
Former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate was charged with sexual assault and battery by his ex-girlfriend, model Bri Stern, following a violent sexual altercation in Beverly Hills the previous month. He has denied any wrongdoing in the civil lawsuit.
The honor and damage lawsuit in Florida was initially submitted by the Tate brothers against a woman who claimed she was held captive in Romania in July 2023.
