Fans Bid Farewell to Bonnie Tyler

As Bonnie Tyler’s coffin returned from Spain, fans gathered in the streets of Wales to pay their respects to the beloved singer.

On Saturday, thousands of mourners surrounded the hearse as it passed through a quaint English village, showering it with flowers.

The driver lowered the back window, unveiling a coffin adorned with a Welsh flag and a photo of the iconic singer.

Fans rushed to clear a path for the procession, some leaving flowers outside their homes, demonstrating their affection for the artist.

“She always made sure to come home and connect with her fans in Wales,” one of them remarked, reflecting the deep bond she had with her supporters. “Her songs really resonated with so many people here. We loved her dearly.”

Tyler, whose real name was Gaynor Sullivan, passed away on July 8 at the age of 75.

The pop star died in a Portuguese hospital after battling an illness for some time. The official reason for her passing has not been disclosed yet, but it followed emergency intestinal surgery she underwent in Faro, Portugal, in April.

Just a day after her surgery, the singer was placed in a medically induced coma to assist in her recovery. At that time, a statement shared on her social media assured fans that the procedure was successful and she was on the mend. “We know that all of her family, friends, and fans are eager for her speedy recovery,” it read.

Tyler was gearing up for a European tour slated to kick off in Malta on May 22, 2026, and she had often expressed how fit she felt despite some health challenges. “I’m still rocking on stage with a fantastic band,” she shared previously, enjoying her time in the spotlight. “I do Pilates at home. It’s just 20 minutes a day, but it helps. I really hope my health continues to hold up.”
