Many individuals are present. In other words, Democratic leaders suggested that their influence “resides in poverty,” Dr. Ben Carson, the national advisor to nutrition, health, and housing at the Agriculture Bureau, stated during his appearance on Breitbart News Daily.
“It’s really frustrating to see these Democratic leaders who seem indifferent to making our cities safer, and to witness people, including their children, trapped in this cycle of poverty,” host Mike Slater asked Carson, the former U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary.
Carson shared that during his tenure as HUD secretary in the first Trump administration, he had anticipated finding common ground between both political sides. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
“When I took on the role at HUD, I believed we could uncover shared goals, such as helping people escape poverty. Initially, there seemed to be a lot of enthusiasm for that,” he reflected.
“However, many individuals derive their power from maintaining the status quo in poverty. They don’t want people to uplift themselves; instead, they want to perpetuate a narrative of victimhood, presenting themselves as the solution. Sadly, that’s why so many continue to struggle,” Carson elaborated.

Additionally, Carson discussed his new position in agriculture, pointing out significant obstacles to restoring health in America.
“One of our initial steps is to restrict access in the SNAP program to healthier, more diverse food options, as taxpayer funds are currently being directed toward unhealthy, empty-calorie foods. I believe this change can have a real impact,” he noted.
“There are indeed tasty, nutritious options available. When you compare our average lifespan to similar nations, we find ourselves falling short by four years. A good friend of mine has diabetes and has spent the last couple of months in Italy,” Carson said.
“If it was purely inevitable, that would be different, but these choices are influenced by knowledge, and we need to ensure people have access to that knowledge.”
