Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) told CNN's “Anderson Cooper 360” Tuesday that “a lot of Republicans” will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris because former President Donald Trump is “sleazy.” He insisted that he would.
“Liz Cheney and I disagree on everything. We don't agree. But the thing we disagree on is that she happens to believe in American democracy and the rule of law,” Sanders said. That's why she was so against Donald Trump and so supportive of Kamala Harris. And I respect that. She got a lot of flak from Republicans and fellow Republicans. But what you're seeing now is a lot of Republicans saying that even though they disagree with Kamala on this issue, they can't have someone as vile as Donald Trump as president. I think it's a person who doesn't believe in the foundations of American democracy.
He added, “And I respect Republicans who have the courage to do it. We can do it. Liz Cheney and I will debate every problem in the world. I'm right, she's wrong. It's called a democratic process. We're not going to deny the election results. That's authoritarianism.
