Let’s face it, the world isn’t always perfect.
Disneyland and Disney World are often seen as magical places where visitors can escape reality and make memorable moments.
Yet, being an adult acting like a kid doesn’t give a free pass on etiquette.
Katie Dowd, an editor, expressed her frustrations regarding rude behavior from fellow guests while at Disneyland. She makes some valid points.
Dowd recalled a scene from a haunted mansion ride, feeling distracted and unable to enjoy the atmosphere because of the guests around her.
Beloved rides often start with narration from the actor Paul Freeze: “Welcome, foolish man, in a mansion of ghosts.”
She pointed out that some visitors tend to mimic the narration, detracting from the experience. “Just because you know the lines doesn’t mean others do. It’s about enjoying the ride, not being a distraction,” she noted.
Beyond that, she highlighted how frustrating it can be when other riders chatter incessantly.
“First-timers are often at the mercy of those who treat the ride like just another spot to hang out. If you can’t go 15 minutes without chatting, maybe skip the ride,” she added.
She wishes for a more considerate atmosphere at amusement parks, though it seems many visitors need a reminder of this etiquette.
In a different incident, a woman named Nicole Arena faced criticism for her choice of attire—sports bras and leggings—while in Disney World. She shared on TikTok that staff told her she was “inappropriately dressed” and should have bought a $45 shirt instead.
“I only showed my stomach and arms, but why act like I’m completely undressed?” she responded. Another video of hers echoed her sentiments.
“Everyone knows that wearing a sports bra and leggings is fine at the gym. What’s the difference at Disney?” she argued.
Comments on her video reflected mixed views about the dress code enforcement. Some concurred that a sports bra isn’t suitable for a family park, questioning her choice of attire.
“A sports bra at a family-friendly place doesn’t fit, honestly. I appreciate that they’re enforcing some standards,” one commenter stated.
Others felt it highlighted a disconnect, pointing out that a simple adjustment, like wearing a shirt over her sports bra, could resolve the issue.
