Marcellus Wiley Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Former NFL player and sports commentator Marcellus Wiley was taken into custody on Saturday due to domestic violence allegations.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his arrest, and reports indicate that he is currently being held without bail. However, specific details surrounding the circumstances of his arrest have not been disclosed.

Wiley, who is 51 years old, previously faced serious allegations. In April 2026, Rolling Stone reported that four women accused him of sexual assault. Earlier, he had been accused by three women during his college days at Columbia University, where he denied the accusations on his podcast, claiming there was evidence to support his stance that the allegations were false.

Wiley referred to the claims made against him during his time at Columbia as “BS.” He is married to Annmarie Wiley, who has appeared on reality television.

According to the Rolling Stone article, two of the women alleging assault were involved with Wiley between 1995 and 1999. One woman stated she was groomed by Wiley from the age of 13, alleging he assaulted her on her 18th birthday. She suggested that if the charges had been pursued properly by Columbia, such incidents could have been avoided.

Another woman, who had previously worked as a production assistant at ESPN, expressed that she was tricked into a meeting with Wiley in 2009, where she claims she was assaulted. She described the impact of the incident as something that would stay with her for life.

Wiley was chosen 52nd overall during the 1997 NFL Draft, playing his first four years with the Buffalo Bills. He gained notable recognition when he made the Pro Bowl in 2001 while with the San Diego Chargers and had stints with the Cowboys and the Jacksonville Jaguars before retiring after the 2006 season.
