The Celtics star said he first saw Flag play at summer camp two years ago.
“He has a great feel for the game. He knows how to set the screen. He knows when to cut. He likes to get his teammates involved. That's on full display throughout the season and is a big reason why they have a chance to win the championship,” Tatum said.
Flag was the catalyst for the Duke teams at 33-3 and Sweet 16.
The Star Freshman is a national consensus during the 2024-25 campaign, where he can earn Player of the Year after an average of 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steel and 1.3 blocks.

However, Flagg missed the rest of the ACC tournament after suffering an ankle injury in Duke's victory over Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament. Duke still won to win.
Flag played 22 minutes in a 16-seeded Mount St. Mary victory in Duke's dominant 93-49, scoring 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and blocks.
In the 32nd round, Flag played 29 minutes in a Duke 89-66 victory over Baylor. Flagg won with 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists and one block.
Duke relies on the Sweet 16 flag. There, the Blue Devils face No. 4 seed Arizona on Thursday at 9:40pm (eastern).

Tatum, who played for Duke for a season from 2016 to 2017, failed to win the title in his sole year in college basketball.
The St. Louis native averaged 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steel and 1.1 blocks per game in 29 games. Tatum was the Celtics' third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Tatum spent all eight seasons of his NBA career with the Celtics, being selected six times for the All-Star team, and was a key cog in the Celtics title run last season.
