March Madness: Vanderbilt player enters transfer portal 13 minutes after loss

One player doesn't seem too upset that his season ended during the insanity of March.

Vanderbilt freshman Karis Bilal reportedly entered the transfer portal just 13 minutes after losing to the team in the first round on Friday.

The game was turned over at 3:30 PM ET. Until 5:53pm 24/7 Sports Bilal reported that he entered the portal.

Bilal verbally committed to school in September 2022, signing his intent for that November a year before graduating from high school.

However, Bilal did not appear in the Commodore single game this year, and he wore a redshirt. Reports say he didn't even travel with his team to either of the SEC tournaments that led to Multimadness or Big Dance.

Bilal was a three-star recruit from Atlanta.

Vanderbilt wasted a 12-point lead and was eliminated. The Commodore led 39-27 with less than 15 minutes left in the game. However, what was run at St. Mary's 16-4 led the game to the game with the rest of 8:03. From there, it was nail bitter.

Vanderbilt's Jason Edwards missed a 3-pointer match with 13 seconds remaining, and Devin McGlockton missed another 11x duck, bringing St. Mary's 59-56 victory.
