Rubio Discusses UAPs and Government Transparency
On Tuesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested that President Trump might share photos and videos regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) during a prime-time address if significant findings emerge, addressing suspicions that the government may be concealing information.
In a recent interview with Katie Miller, the host of the Katie Miller Podcast, Rubio was asked about his views on conspiracy theories. He mentioned UAPs but was quick to clarify that he doesn’t consider it a conspiracy theory.
Rubio expressed his longstanding interest in unmanned aerial vehicles from his time in the Senate, stating, “We don’t know who or what it is, but there are objects flying over our military bases that aren’t ours. We need to investigate this matter seriously.”
He said, “I wouldn’t label this a conspiracy. I might not have all the answers, but I have big questions about what’s going on in our airspace. If there is indeed something we’re hiding, then the president would definitely reveal evidence during a significant public address.”
Military Footage Raises Questions
Recently, the Department of Defense released several videos related to UAPs, and questions are swirling about their implications. “Trump has instructed the Department of the Army to release all files concerning aliens, extraterrestrials, and UFOs, underscoring his commitment to transparency,” said White House Press Secretary Anna Kelly, reiterating the president’s intent to disclose valuable information to the public.
During a reporter meeting, Rubio acknowledged that UAPs could serve as a diversionary tactic but emphasized the seriousness of the issue. “I’ve noticed this for years in the Senate. It’s used effectively as a distraction, yet it remains a valid topic for discussion,” he added.
Federal Actions on Whistleblower Disclosures
Moreover, President Trump has directed federal agencies to lift prior non-disclosure agreements for former government personnel aiding investigations into UAPs. This measure aims to facilitate more open communication regarding these matters.
A senior official underscored that this wasn’t a declassification directive, only allowing individuals to discuss their experiences through proper governmental channels.
Officials noted that years of congressional inquiries and whistleblower claims highlight the likelihood that witnesses haven’t come forward due to fears related to earlier non-disclosure agreements.
Criticism and Commentary
Joshua Golembeske, host of Gaia’s “Cosmic Disclosure,” credited Rubio for pushing the UAP report forward, citing his role on the Senate Intelligence Committee. However, he criticized Rubio’s “diversionary tactic” remark, calling it “absurd”, as it contradicts Rubio’s earlier statements about the stigma related to reporting UAP encounters.
Golembeske emphasized, “We can’t assume that if Trump didn’t show evidence, he wasn’t aware of it. It’s possible that such information was hidden from him and Congress, as indicated by intelligence whistleblower David Grusch.” He added that this doesn’t mean nothing is happening; rather, it suggests the secrecy might have worked as intended.
