Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo stumped Michigan Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell, getting the senator to admit “we don’t have all the facts” about Hunter Biden’s laptop in an interview on Thursday.
As the two men argued about former President Trump’s Manhattan conviction for campaign finance violations, Bartiromo asked Dingell whether he saw similarities between the Hunter Biden laptop controversy and Trump’s trial.
“Do you see similarities to the 51 intelligence officials who lied about Hunter Biden’s laptop right before the 2020 election? Are you calling that Russian disinformation?” the host asked.
“Russian disinformation is a problem on all fronts, and I don’t mean to downplay it in any way. I think it’s a real problem,” Dingell responded.
“But specifically, Hunter Biden’s laptop was real. They signed a letter saying it was Russian disinformation. Is this a similar situation to the one President Trump was convicted of?”
Dingell didn’t even seem to understand the difference between Hunter Biden’s recent firearms conviction and the controversy surrounding his laptop.
“Hunter Biden was in court and convicted…” Dingell began.
“No, that was a gun charge, a completely different situation. I’m talking about Hunter Biden’s laptop right before the 2020 election. 51 intelligence officials signed a letter claiming it was Russian disinformation. They hid the truth before the election. Is that similar to what Trump was charged with?” Bartiromo asked.
“There is an ongoing investigation into that laptop,” Dingell replied.
“Have you got one?” Bartiromo asked.
“I don’t know for a fact. I expect we’ll hear more about the laptop in the coming months, Maria, but I don’t know what may or may not have been on it,” Dingell responded.
Pressed further, Bartiromo asked whether details surrounding the case involving Trump’s involvement in a $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels were similar to the case in which intelligence officials concealed Hunter Biden’s laptop.
“First of all, I’m being cautious because I don’t have all the facts,” Dingell responded.
“Excuse me?” Bartiromo asked incredulously.

“I don’t know all the facts. I think a lot of people wanted the facts, but I didn’t know what Biden’s computer was. I still don’t know,” Dingell said.
“What don’t you know yet?” Bartiromo pressed her.
“I know that the Department of Justice used the laptop as evidence in the gun trial against Hunter Biden. They obviously looked at the laptop and said it was real. We knew it was real at the time, but 51 intelligence officials said it wasn’t real. They lied,” Bartiromo argued. Fifty-one former intelligence officials signed the petition in October 2020. letter “The emergence in US politics of emails believed to be from Vice President Biden’s son Hunter bears all the classic hallmarks of a Russian intelligence operation,” he argued.
The Daily Caller News Foundation confirmed in October 2020 that the contents of his laptop were authentic.
Hunter Biden reportedly abandoned the laptop at a computer repair shop in Delaware in 2019. The store’s owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, turned it over to the FBI but also made copies of the hard drive and distributed them to various sources, including Rudy Giuliani, who in turn provided a copy to the New York Post.
Twitter censored the New York Post’s reporting on the matter and locked out the company’s Twitter account in October 2020, less than a month before the 2020 presidential election.

In Hunter Biden’s latest firearms trial, FBI witness Erica Jensen denied claims by Biden’s defense team that the contents of the laptop were faked or altered, according to multiple reports.
When prosecutor Derek Hines asked Jensen if he saw any evidence that Hunter Biden’s laptop was tampered with, Jensen reportedly replied, “No.”
