Marianne Williamson ends 2024 Democratic White House bid

Self-help guru Marianne Williamson is canceling her second campaign to win the Democratic presidential nomination.

The 71-year-old White House candidate announced her withdrawal in a campaign email to supporters on Wednesday, a day after finishing third in the Nevada primary.

She received 2.9% of the vote, finishing behind President Biden and the choice of “none of these candidates.”

“First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you don’t win :)…” Williamson’s concession note began.

“I am deeply grateful to all the wonderful people who have accompanied us on our political journey over the past 10 months,” she added.

“While the level of our failures is clear for all to see, some degree of success is still real.”

According to RealClearPolitics polling averages, Mr. Williamson was trailing at 9% in national polls last October after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced he was withdrawing from the Democratic primary and running as an independent. It reached its peak, but has fallen to 6.5% this month.
