Marine surprises son in heartwarming scene at Rams-Dolphins game

There probably wasn't a dry eye in the house.

During halftime of the Rams' game against the Dolphins on Monday night, his father, U.S. Marine Corps Col. Justin Vega, made a surprise return to give young fans a memorable Veterans Day.

A heartwarming scene It caused an uproar throughout SoFi Stadium (CPT). Vega had a heartwarming moment as she emerged from the tunnel and walked towards her shocked son Leo.

The young Rams fan slowly walked toward his father, a Marine helicopter pilot, and fell into Vega's arms as the Marine captain picked him up and gave him a big hug.

“I can't watch that. It makes me cry,” ESPN's Scott Van Pelt said on the air, as the station aired footage of the moment. “Hey, that's awesome! Wow, that's beautiful.”

The moment captured the hearts of not only those in the stadium, but also many on social media, who had to hold back tears.

“I cried on Monday.” 1 person posted.

“Sunday is the Marine's birthday. Surprised the family on Veterans Day. Captain Vega is having a tough week.” A third person commented.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, also hosted 20 Navy SEALs and their guests on Monday night, the paper said. This is the Rams Community X account.

The Dolphins entered the locker room with a 10-6 lead, but the Rams entered halftime trailing. Miami ultimately won 23-15.

The Dolphins scored a go-ahead touchdown on their first drive of the game, culminating with Malik Washington's touchdown.

Miami extended its lead with a field goal early in the second quarter, and the Rams responded with two field goals of their own to close the gap.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa connected with Tyreek Hill and gave Miami the lead with a third-quarter touch.
