CNN commentator Van Jones said Friday on “The Situation Room” that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) discussed several arguments during Thursday’s House Oversight Committee hearing. State) said he was a disgraceful “clown.”
Moderator Wolf Blitzer said, “Another political issue that’s been developing in recent hours is that following a very, very tense hearing last night that devolved into very personal attacks, House Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett… “Congressman calls Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene a racist.”
After playing a clip from the committee, Blitzer asked, “Van, what do you think about that?”
Jones said, “I think standards of conduct have been slowly lowered by some people in Congress. They go there because they want to be famous. We’re talking about Marjorie Taylor Greene et al. Why are we… Do you know her name? Marjorie Taylor Greene has never passed a bill. She has never chaired a committee. She has become a provocateur or a clown. That’s the only thing I’ve ever done, to get under people’s skin.”
He added, “But whether she’s a racist or not, she’s a disgrace to the American people. She’s a disgrace to Congress. And she should only pass one bill. Marjorie, Good luck. Every time we talk about her she does some clown nonsense and it’s ridiculous.”
