Threats Against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia has reported receiving violent threats, suggesting they may be linked to her decision to support the release of the Epstein files.
She attempted to connect these threats to the rhetoric used by former President Donald Trump and others who have been critical of her ahead of the scheduled vote on Tuesday.
“Harmful and dangerous rhetoric in politics must end, and we need healing in this country for all Americans,” she stated.
On social media, she claimed that Trump’s “unwarranted and vicious attack” on her served as a signal to extremists, resulting in serious dangers to both her and her family.
Greene mentioned that while she has faced previous threats from the left, these particular threats seem to be coming from the right. “President Trump has called me a traitor, which is not only false but horrifying. This kind of language puts blood in the water, triggering a frenzy that can have dire consequences,” she explained.
She noted the timing of the threats—just days before the crucial vote on the Epstein files—and reaffirmed her commitment to her constituents and the Constitution. “I love America and the American people. I am not a traitor,” she emphasized.
Additionally, she mentioned that a construction company received a pipe bomb threat, which has drawn attention.
According to a spokesperson for Rome Police, they are investigating threats related to Greene, including reports of unordered pizza being delivered to her address and two threatening emails received at a local location.
Greene criticized Trump’s rhetoric aimed at her, suggesting that such comments from a sitting president show a dangerous precedent for dealing with perceived traitors.
She provided a video example illustrating how a fake pizza delivery could potentially be employed to blackmail a target by indicating that their residence is known.
“Toxic and dangerous speech in politics must end, and we need healing in this country for all Americans,” she reiterated.
On the same day, Trump expressed his support for Republicans voting to release the Epstein files.
“As always, we take all threats seriously, regardless of political background, and follow established procedures,” the police statement continued. They remain committed to investigating credible threats and ensuring community safety.
Greene has also recently labeled Israel’s military actions against Hamas in Gaza as “genocide” and has opposed U.S. involvement in the conflict.
