Mark Carney to announce Canadian election and will run in Ottawa’s Nepean riding | Mark Carney

His liberals announced that Mark Carney will be taking part in the election at Nepean's Ottawa Riding as the new Canadian Prime Minister is about to join Parliament for the first time.

Kearney on Sunday is projected to trigger an early general election on April 28th. Liberals said on Saturday that Kearney would run to represent a suburban horseback riding or district. In a social media post, Ottawa pointed out that he raised his family and dedicated his career to public services. He previously served as head of the Canadian central bank, but before that he was an agent.

The House of Representatives' 343-seat election campaign will last for 37 days. A party that leads a majority in the House of Representatives alone or with the support of another party, will form the next government, whose leader will become prime minister.

Carney replaced Justin Trudeau. Justin Trudeau announced his resignation in January, but after the leadership race he remained in power until the governing liberals elected Carney on March 9th.

Carney, sworn in as Canada's 24th Prime Minister on March 14, says the government needs a strong and clear order in times of crisis. Until Donald Trump declared a trade war, the liberals poised for this year's historic election defeat were ruled.

Opposition Conservatives wanted to hold an election for Trudeau as food and housing prices rose and immigration spikes. But after decades of stability in US-Canadian relations, votes are expected to instead focus on the best people to deal with Trump.

Carney, 60, was head of the Bank of Canada during the 2008 financial crisis. In 2013 he became the first non-citizen in the UK to run the UK Bank. Helped manage the impact of Brexit.

Pierre Polyave, the conservative leader, is Kearney's main challenger. The party and Poilliebre were heading for a major victory in Canada's federal election this year, before they derailed by Trump's actions.

Trump has repeatedly stated that Canada should become the 51st US state and place a 25% tariff on Canada's steel and aluminum, threatening cleaning fees on April 2nd to all Canadian products and all American trading partners.

Trump's frequent attacks on Canadian sovereignty have infuriated Canadians. That led to a surge in nationalism, which strengthened the number of liberal polls.

Trump laughed at Trudeau by calling him governor, but hasn't mentioned his name yet.
