Mark Coleman out of hospital after saving parents from house fire

UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman is recovering after saving his parents from a house fire in Ohio last week.

Mr. Coleman was discharged from the hospital. He posted a video on Instagram on Monday.He is still recovering but has shown that he is grateful to have survived.

“God is great 👊❤️🙏 I’m recovering so well,” Coleman wrote in the caption.

“My lungs hurt. My eyes are burnt out, but I’m very healthy and alive. I feel so blessed to be in the hands of my higher power. He’s helping me today. I hope to move forward, and so do I.

“I am overwhelmed by the love and support I have received. If I could have my wish, I would like to meet each and every one of you and give you a big hug and express my gratitude in person. To all of you, please remember your loved ones. Check it out. Life is amazing. Life is what you make it. It all starts with a thought, get those negative thoughts out of your head, I love you all so much.”

In the video, Coleman counted his blessings.

“I’m one of the luckiest guys in the world,” he said.

“I can’t thank you enough. I just appreciate it. I will continue to motivate people to move forward and be a better version of themselves. You never know when you’ll need it, so let’s go. Today. Let’s start with Tomorrow is not promised. Move!

Fire crews were called to a home in Fremont, Ohio early last Tuesday morning.

The fire, which started in the kitchen of Coleman’s childhood home, claimed the life of her beloved dog, Hummer, and left the house “to the ground.”

Coleman’s daughter Morgan wrote last week that her father was “fighting for his life” after rescuing her parents.

a GoFundMe set up to support Coleman It surpassed its original goal of $100,000.

Coleman became the first UFC heavyweight champion in 1997, defeating Dan Severn by neck crank submission.
