Mark Levin Critiques Jimmy Kimmel
Mark Levin, host of BlazeTV, has expressed his thoughts on Jimmy Kimmel’s recent portrayal of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, deeming it fundamentally false. Levin argues that Kimmel, in his attempt to frame Kirk’s murder as a political issue, simply leveraged the platform of ABC to mislead the audience.
“To begin with, it was a total lie,” Levin states. “It was an effort to twist a serious incident and provoke those who care about Charlie and his supporters.” He notes that Kimmel’s remarks did more to stir frustration than to provide clarity.
Levin questions whether Kimmel’s actions fall under the umbrella of free speech, pondering the distinction between what is legally protected and what might be deemed irresponsible. “Is this really free speech? There’s a difference between constitutional protection and just saying whatever,” he elaborates.
He continues, asserting that Kimmel’s suspension wasn’t a matter of free expression versus government control. Instead, it stemmed from Kimmel making an inappropriate comment regarding Kirk’s political assassination. Levin points out that Kirk was the victim of violence tied to his speech, not Kimmel.
Additionally, Levin emphasizes that as a private company, ABC has the right to terminate employees over their comments. “Think about it. Most of you work for someone. If you say something outrageous, you’ll likely be let go. You can’t just shout ‘free speech’ in that case,” he remarks.
Levin also highlights the role of the FCC, saying its chair isn’t involved in matters like this, emphasizing the need for a majority of commissioners to act on any decisions.
