Robinson will face off against Stein in November, seeking to replace Gov. Roy Asbury Cooper (Democratic), who is retiring due to term limits.
Robinson’s victory in November would not only give Republicans a trifecta in the state, as Republicans already control the state legislature, but also give North Carolina conservatives such as pro-life initiatives and anti-grooming. This will provide an opportunity to promote policies that can help. Measures similar to those in other states in the country.
In 2021, Robinson came under fire from the political left for taking a stand against transgender advertising in schools.
The lieutenant governor responded to the woke mob by vowing not to bow to leftists calling for his resignation after branding the promotion of “transgenderism” and “homosexuality” in schools “filth.”
“There’s no reason why we should be teaching our children about transgenderism, homosexuality, all that filthy stuff anywhere in America,” Robinson said. “And yes, I called it filth. And if you don’t like that I called it filth, come see me and I’ll explain it to you.”
Last year, Robinson drew cheers from the audience at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Pathways to Majority conference when he strongly supported former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid.
