Mark Sanchez’s family has spoken out following his stabbing during a drunken altercation outside an Indianapolis pub. They expressed gratitude towards fans and first responders for their support.
“This has been a very painful time for everyone involved,” remarked Sanchez’s brother, Nick, in a statement. “Mark and our family truly appreciate the care, love, and concern we’ve received recently.”
He went on to mention that Mark sustained serious injuries and is now focused on recovery while legal matters unfold. The family also extended heartfelt thanks to the medical professionals and first responders.
Authorities report that a 69-year-old driver allegedly stabbed the 38-year-old Sanchez multiple times during the incident. Surveillance footage showed Sanchez emerging from an alley, visibly hurt.
After the attack, Sanchez was taken to the hospital, where he was initially in serious condition but later stabilized.
Meanwhile, the driver, Perry Toll, has filed a lawsuit against Sanchez, claiming he has suffered lasting damage to his appearance as a result of the incident. The lawsuit also alleges Sanchez appeared intoxicated at the time, having traveled to Indiana for a game between the Colts and the Raiders.
