Rhea Durham, wife of Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg, publicly slams California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) for “standing around laughing” amid historic fires that razed large swathes of Los Angeles did.
On Friday, Durham expressed her frustration in a since-deleted Instagram post. The photo was of Newsom laughing with a group of people during what appeared to be a rally near the Palisades fire.
“Why is the Governor of California standing there laughing like a reckless driver?” Durham wrote in the caption of the post, according to FOX News. report.
Her criticism is part of a growing backlash against Newsom, much of which focuses on the state's mismanagement of water supplies and other critical issues that are believed to have greatly exacerbated the destruction caused by the fires.
Other stars who criticized Newsom and other California leaders include Mel Gibson, James Woods, Zachary Levi, Sarah Foster, Dean Cain and Adam Carolla.
Newsom has appeared on the left-leaning podcast Pod Save America in recent days to try to deflect blame, apparently in an effort to contain political influence.
