Americans have been gaslighted for years by being told that information on social media that is clearly censored is not being censored.
Now, Letter to CongressMark Zuckerberg has admitted to bowing to government pressure and shadowbanning certain views and accounts.
“Over the course of months in 2021, Biden Administration officials, including from the White House, repeatedly pressured us to censor specific COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed significant frustration to our team when we did not comply,” Zuckerberg wrote in the letter.
“Ultimately, our decision whether to remove content is ours and we take responsibility for our decisions, including the COVID-19 related amendments we made to our enforcement in response to this pressure. We believe the government pressure was wrong and we regret that we were not more vocal about it,” he continued.
Zuckerberg also described warnings the company received from the FBI about a possible Russian disinformation campaign linked to the Biden family and Burisma ahead of the 2020 election.
When the New York Post broke corruption allegations involving then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the story was temporarily downgraded pending fact-checking.
“It has since become clear that this report was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we should never have downgraded this story,” Zuckerberg wrote.
Glenn Beck I'm not impressed by Zuckerberg's revelations.
“Well, Mark, that's a big deal,” Glenn says sarcastically. “Thank you, thank you so much. I appreciate it. But I just want to ask you to unban me now. Can you not shadowban me now?”
