Mark Zuckerberg mocks Apple ‘fanboys’ in takedown of ‘Vision Pro’ headset

Metaboss Mark Zuckerberg has defeated Apple’s $3,500 virtual reality headset, the Vision Pro, taunting the company’s “fanboy” defenders, the latest sign of growing competition between the two tech giants. Ta.

Zuckerberg took aim at Apple’s hot gadget in a product review after “finally trying out” an expensive competitor. The 39-year-old claimed his company’s $499 Quest 3 VR headset is “suitable for most of the things people use mixed reality for.”

“Up until now, I thought Quest would be a better value for most people because it was a better value and it was about 1/7th cheaper. It’s not just a better value, it’s a better time for a product,” Zuckerberg said.

The Facebook founder boasted that the Quest 3 headset has several advantages over the Vision Pro, including lighter weight, a deeper content library, a wider field of view, and no wires.

He claimed that Apple’s goggles have an unpleasant “motion blur” effect that makes them of little use to gamers.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that the Vision Pro has “higher resolution” than Meta’s headset, but added, “I don’t know how many trade-offs there are to the quality, comfort, ergonomics and other aspects of the display of the device.” I was surprised that I had to pay so much.”

Zuckerberg added, “I know some fanboys will be upset that someone dares to question whether Apple will be the leader in a new category.” “But the reality is that every generation of computing has an open model and a closed model. Certainly, on mobile he said Apple’s closed model won out, but that’s not always the case.”

Zuckerberg filmed a takedown while using Quest 3, further insulting him.

The Vision Pro has garnered mixed reactions since its debut, with famed “Avatar” director James Cameron praising it as a “religious” experience and an anonymous Silicon Valley investor calling it “technological fentanyl.” I’m using an example.

Some buyers have complained that they can’t access VR porn on the Vision Pro.

Meta has long dominated the VR headset market, with sales of its Quest 2 and Quest Pro products accounting for nearly 80% of the 8.8 million units sold in 2022, according to data from research firm IDC.

According to a report in late January, Apple has sold about 200,000 Vision Pro units since it began accepting pre-orders on January 19th.

Zuckerberg previously criticized Vision Pro after it was announced last June.

“Every demo they showed was a person sitting alone on a couch,” Zuckerberg reportedly told employees during an all-hands meeting at the time.

“So that may be a vision of the future of computing, but it’s not what I want.”
