Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Fires 20 Employees for Leaking Confidential Information

Meta, Facebook and Instagram's parent company Mark Zuckerberg, has fired about 20 employees to share sensitive internal information outside the organization, according to a company spokesperson. Meta's super wet employee base is not suitable for the Trump-friendly “Zack 2.0” era.

Barge Report That Meta spokesman Dave Arnold revealed that the company recently conducted an investigation into which around 20 employees were fired for leaking confidential information. Arnold emphasized that Meta will take the issue seriously and will continue to take action when the leak is identified.

“We tell employees when they join the company and provide regular reminders, providing them with anything that goes against the policy of leaking inside information regardless of their intention,” Arnold said. “We recently conducted an investigation in which around 20 employees were fired to share confidential information outside the company.

The end comes amid a recent surge in stories detailing unpublished product plans and internal meetings in the meta, including the recent All Hands Meeting led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Following reports by Verge and other outlets about what Zuckerberg said during the meeting, employees were warned of leaks of information. Comments were then leaked, and CTO Andrew Bosworth told employees that the company is “catching people and making progress.”

Morale within the meta has been affected since Zuckerberg announced a major change to the company's biased content moderation policy, canceled the company's DEI program and showed that recent layoffs were targeted at “low performers.” Thursday's announcement of employee termination did not provide details regarding the nature of the leaked material, the identity of the employee involved, or the recipient of the leaked information.

At an internal meeting in early February, Bosworth told Leaks, “There's a funny thing going on in these leaks. When things leak, I think a lot of times people think, 'Oh, okay, this is leaking, so it's going to put pressure on us to change things.” The opposite is likely to be the case. ”
