Marsha Blackburn Takes Action to End Birthright Citizenship

Discussion on Birthright Citizenship

On Wednesday, during an appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) talked about moves to address what is known as birthright citizenship.

Republicans in Tennessee are considering a bill in the Senate regarding this issue.

Maria Bartilomo, the host, mentioned, “ICE arrests claim they contribute to Tennessee’s safety due to the drop in crime rates. There’s also a new bill aimed at closing loopholes related to birth tourism that’s been exploited by many foreigners each year. Can you elaborate on that?”

Blackburn responded, “Absolutely. At 21, individuals can begin a chain transition.”

She added, “We know that there are at least 33,000 births related to this program annually, and it’s an industry that generates tens of millions of dollars yearly. It’s essential for us to eliminate this practice of birthright tourism. Our citizenship shouldn’t be commodified. We’ve fought hard to ensure our freedom and our troops defend this country.”
