Dominican Fugitive Arrested for Quadruple Homicide
A Dominican fugitive has been apprehended in connection with a tragic quadruple murder that occurred near Rochester, New York, on August 31, 2024. The U.S. Marshals Service announced the arrest on Wednesday.
Thirty-one-year-old Luis Francisco Soriano, who is originally from Puerto Rico, is accused of killing four individuals, including two young children aged two and four. The authorities emphasized the significant impact this crime had not just on the local communities in New York and Puerto Rico, but on the nation as a whole. The case is particularly chilling given the innocence of the victims.
According to reports, Soriano, along with his brother Giulio Soriano, allegedly murdered the children and their parents in their home. Following the incident, Luis Soriano fled to the Dominican Republic.
After evading capture, Soriano was tracked down to a Punta Cana hotel where he had been working. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals after finishing his shift.
Soriano remains in custody in the Dominican Republic while waiting for an extradition hearing. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree murder and additional drug-related offenses in the United States.
It’s a deeply unsettling situation, one that resonates across communities and emphasizes the critical role of law enforcement in addressing such severe crimes.
