Marshawn Kneeland's girlfriend shares her thoughts for the first time following his death

Tragic Death of Cowboys Player Investigated

Catalina Mancera, the girlfriend of Marshawn Kneeland, a defensive end for the Cowboys, was seen leaving her Plano, Texas apartment prior to her tragic death, as confirmed by authorities with photos. Her family is currently handling arrangements for her funeral, expressing heartbreak during this difficult time.

“I’m really saddened right now. Honestly, it may take a while before I can talk in detail,” Mancera shared. “Everything is still fresh, and we’re just starting to figure out funeral plans. We haven’t decided on a location yet.”

Mancera also expressed reluctance to speculate about Kneeland’s death, saying, “That topic is just too heavy for now.”

Kneeland, 24, died by suicide following a police chase on Dallas Parkway close to Warren Parkway, with reports indicating the incident occurred late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, as confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Frisco police found Kneeland dead around 1:31 a.m., and initial findings suggested a self-inflicted gunshot wound. During the pursuit, police learned that Kneeland had been expressing suicidal thoughts.

According to 911 call audio obtained by a news outlet, an operator mentioned that Mancera had received a concerning message from Kneeland and was attempting to reach out to a defense agent for assistance.
