Reflecting on 22 Years at Fox

Two decades ago, I made what I consider to be the best decision of my career. Prior to coming to Fox, I spent my early years at The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, but joining this network has positively impacted my life in ways I never anticipated. Honestly, I can’t even picture what my career might have been like if I hadn’t followed that gut feeling that led me here.

I remember my first day vividly. Jeff Hark, who was in charge of scheduling for reporters and anchors, asked me about my family. He knew I had three young kids and wanted to make sure I felt supported as a professional parent. Initially, I was a bit defensive, insisting that I could manage everything without needing time off. But, as I reflected, I realized he genuinely meant it. It was such an insightful perspective from the company that it inspired me to work even harder, knowing they had my back.

Fox provided me with opportunities to grow by embracing new challenges. The atmosphere was dynamic and the pace of growth was impressive.

Each chance I took seemed to unlock another. In my first year, I eagerly volunteered to join the team covering the presidential election in November 2004. I joked about reporting from a street corner in Boston, but, honestly, I just wanted to be in the midst of the action.

Before I knew it, I was on the floor of the Democratic convention, reporting alongside veteran correspondents Carl Cameron and Major Garrett. I felt a mix of exhilaration and fear. But, I made it through, marking the start of a two-decade journey of covering elections for Fox News.

Throughout my career, I’ve traveled extensively, reported on various leaders, and perhaps the most rewarding experiences have been walking the shores of Normandy with our veterans, sharing their incredible stories from places like Berlin, Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan.

At Fox, there’s a profound respect for veterans that I believe is unique and truly meaningful.

I am deeply thankful for my Fox family—Lachlan, Suzanne, Jay, and everyone else who feels like home. We share a commitment to our country and are driven to hold it to a high standard, demanding accountability from those in power, while praying for its continued success.
