Suffolk County police announced on Wednesday that the body of a Manhattan fashion designer was discovered at an upscale Hamptons Boat Club, noting that they found no signs of violence.
This news follows the passing of 33-year-old Martha Nolan Osratara, who was reported unconscious on a boat docked at the Ritzie Montauk Yacht Club just after midnight.
An autopsy indicated that there were no indications of a violent death, but specifics regarding the cause of death are yet to be disclosed, and the circumstances surrounding her tragic end remain unclear.
A good Samaritan attempted to revive Osratara after she was found unconscious, according to a source close to the situation, highlighting the urgency of the moment.
Osratara was a well-known designer within the Hamptons community, celebrated for her contributions to the local luxury fashion scene.
So far, the Suffolk County Police have yet to disclose the cause of death or any details related to the incident, leaving many in Montauk feeling unsettled.
Members of the Montauk Yacht Club reportedly heard screams coming from the dock late on Monday, drawing attention to the unfolding events.
Some claims from Ritzi Yacht Club members suggest they heard Osratara scream the night before her body was discovered.
Originally from Ireland, Nolan Osratara moved to the US at 26 and began her fashion career in 2023 with a pop-up launch featuring her Hamptons summer wear brand, East East, as she mentioned in an interview last year.
The Suffolk County Police’s investigation team confirmed there was no evidence suggesting foul play in Nolan’s case.
In a heartfelt tribute posted on Instagram Wednesday, her business partner expressed deep emotions regarding their friendship.
“We understood each other like no one else and shared laughter that transcended conversation,” wrote Dylan Grace, who co-founded the brand with Osratara. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have you in my life,” Grace added, reflecting on their special bond.
