Martha Stewart is getting real.
Recognized as a lifestyle guru trailer In the new Netflix documentary Martha, it is revealed that she had an affair with her only husband, Andrew Stewart, during their decades-long marriage.
“Young women, take my advice: If you're married and your husband starts cheating, he's a terrible person,” the 83-year-old said in the trailer. “Get out of that marriage.”
“You've been having an affair all along, haven't you?” the grower can be heard saying to the home and gardening expert.

“Yeah, but I don't think Andy knew that,” Stewart replied.
The new documentary covers Stewart's marriage, rise in the lifestyle industry and legal issues.
“What does it mean to be the first woman in history to become a self-made billionaire?” Stewart asks herself rhetorically at the beginning of the trailer, before laughing.
She added in the trailer that “people thought I was crazy” when her career took off, but “it just worked out.”

“I'm strict, demanding and have all the good things a successful person needs,” she added.
Someone in the trailer said that while these qualities are great for a businessman, Stewart has been labeled as “the worst.”

“All of that was a huge inspiration to me,” said Stewart, who acknowledged being called a “B—-“.
“I don't think Andy knew that.”
A former model, Stewart worked as a stockbroker before starting a catering business in the 1970s and publishing her first cookbook, Entertaining, in 1982. Since then, more cookbooks have been published and she has appeared on television.

Her magazine Martha Stewart Living published its first issue in the winter of 1990.
However, at the height of her success in 2004, she was indicted and convicted on several charges, including conspiracy, securities fraud, and obstruction of justice. She served five months in a minimum-security federal prison.
“I was a trophy to these idiots,” Stewart claimed in the documentary. “I was dragged into a cell. I had no food or water. Those prosecutors should have put me in a Cuisinart and got me high.”

She said she “had to crawl out of a hole” professionally after getting out of prison, but even in her mid-80s, she still has trouble with her friendship with Snoop Dogg and the thirst trap of social media. As a post, the lifestyle icon remains an important presence today due to the continued success of her brand.
“What's more important, marriage or career?” she asked in the documentary.

After the producer said, “You tell me,” Stewart responded, “I don't know.”
“A cookie-cutter house and a cookie-cutter life weren't for me,” she says in the trailer. “I could have just been a miserable housewife, but I didn’t and I’m so glad I didn’t.”

The former couple married in 1961 and divorced in 1990. Her only daughter, Alexis, 59, has followed in her mother's footsteps as a radio and TV host, including on her mother's brand.

Stewart admitted in a 2020 interview that the divorce was difficult for her. People magazine.
“Divorce was terrible for me because we were the first in our family to get divorced,” she said. “And it's even harder that we haven't talked since the divorce. But I'm very strong and very motivated to move on with my life.”
“Martha” will be available to stream on Netflix on October 30th.
