Incident Involving “Cobra Kai” Actor Martin Kove
Martin Kove, known for his role in “Cobra Kai,” recently explained to police the reason behind an unexpected incident where he bit his co-star Alicia Hanna Kim at Summercon in Puyallup, Washington, on June 22, 2025.
The bodycam footage shows police addressing Kove, 78, who responded to accusations of biting Kim, 37. “You can’t bite people. That’s not okay,” said the officers present at the scene.
Kim described the incident, asserting, “It’s an assault,” recounting how Kove had bitten her arm and then proceeded to kiss the spot where he bit her. Police were also informed that she was “visibly upset” after the altercation.
Kove offered an explanation, stating, “We were very playful together and I went a little too hard.” However, police pointed out that Kim bore visible marks from the bite, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
According to Puyallup police reports, Kim sought help after Kove allegedly bit her hard enough to draw blood. “No, we don’t play that way,” she remarked, while Kove extended multiple apologies for his actions.
In the footage, police recorded Kim displaying the bite marks, with others in the vicinity confirming their visibility. Kove, reflecting on the incident, recalled thinking about Kim’s reaction and expressed regret, stating, “I wanted to come back…and see how she was doing.” Yet he mentioned that he never got the chance, as another co-star intervened before he could reach out to her.
Despite the incident and its implications, Kim decided against pursuing charges against Kove but opted to file a report just in case similar situations arose in the future. Subsequently, Kove was asked to leave the fan event.
Despite this incident, Kove remains well-known for his role as John Kreese in the 1984 film “The Karate Kid,” and has reprised the character in the Netflix series “Cobra Kai.” Kim appeared in the sixth season of the show, portraying Kim Da Eun, who collaborates with Kreese to confront his rival studio.
