Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, raised Katherine along with their other children—Oliver and Henry—in the Brentwood neighborhood, which was also home to Nick and his siblings, Jake, Nick, and Romy. A source shared that Martin and Rob had a tight friendship, often celebrating holidays and birthdays together, with the children always in each other’s company.
According to the source, “Katherine and Nick formed a connection over their identities as children of famous parents.” They both were on a quest for individual identities, which was challenging. The pressure on children of celebrities is often immense, leading to unhappiness. “They didn’t want to just be known as so-and-so’s kids,” which was evident when Katherine attempted to change her last name back in 2012.
